Crafty Chic

So I bought myself a cricut create last month and have been filled with ideas of things I want to make. I wanted the Expression for Christmas but didn't get one. My loving hubby told me to get one (we don't buy for each other anymore since the baby has been born, its all about him) but I decided I didn't want to spend that much money, $180. But I made some decent money in January from Ebay so I bought the smaller version for only $90. I got it but then the next week is when we all got sick so I haven't been able to do, well pretty much anything. Since just this weekend this is what I have done. I hope everyone likes them.

This is the first thing I cut. I had all the words cut out and glue together in one night. But then we got sick so it sat for weeks. Finally this weekend I put it together. I think it turned out pretty good for my first project. Actually second if you count the name magnet I did for my mom. I totally forgot to take a pic of it before she took it home. I will have to take one when I go to her house sometime.

This past Saturday I took a cricut class with my mom, sis and good friend Kayla. We made calendars. I wanted to take it because 1. I wanted to get back into scrapbooking, 2. I bought a similar one at a craft fair in Nov last year and kind of wanted to know how to make one, and 3. It was made with a cricut cartridge. So yay finally a chance to learn to do something a little more in detail than just cutting letters. This is mine. it isn't quite finished as there is a cup that goes in the bottom right hand corner that I haven't made yet, and my days of the week aren't up. I ran out of time so I couldn't do the cup and when I got home I realized I didn't have all the days of the week. Good thing my mom bought the cartridge we were using so I can make some when I borrow it.

This is the calendar that I bought at a craft fair. Now that I took the class I can kind of manipulate what I learned and I think I can create one just like this one. I paid $28 for mine. Our class was only $15. So cheaper was better even though we had to make it, I like doing things like that. 2 bonuses I guess :)

So tonight I have still had the crafty bug. So I decided to make some character picks. These will go into cupcakes. I realized I didn't have toothpicks so I used cut up skewers. I did two and decided they were way to much of a pain to cut small and they are just too thick. I will need to go to the store and buy toothpicks so I can finish. They are turning out sooo cute. They boys are going to love them. No theme, just characters they all love.

I also did these tonight. Little paper clips. Something simple but cute as heck, or so I think. I found out on a blog, after I totally had this idea, that girl uses Jumbo clips and makes bookmarks. She says she gets them at walmart so when I go there to get toothpicks I am totally going to look for them so I can make them.
Leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Winning Spree

I havent been able to post in the last few weeks because everyone in the house has been sick. It just wont seem to go away. We all got it at the same time which made me happy, as I thought it would go away quicker rather than it be someone has it then gets better then someone else gets it...blah blah blah. I hate that kind of sickness. But it seems like we are all still sick. We just cant get rid of it. And on top of that there is something wrong with Davey's tonsils. We took him to the doctor last week because I was paranoid he might have something more than a cold and wanted to get him checked out. I also took him though because his tonsils were so enlarged they were touching and they had red veins all over them. Davey has had large tonsils for over a year now but not like this. The doctor is sending us over to a throat specialist to have a look. So of course I am totally worried. But on a good note, its just a cold. So nothing serious with the sickness, just something in addition.

Now on to some good news. I am a fan of the band MUSE. I have liked them for almost a year now. I know they have been out longer but I just hadnt heard from them. If you havent heard them, but like Radiohead, you will like them. They have a very similar sound, so much I thought it was them at first. I know a few people who thought the same thing. Anyways, our radio station here was giving away their full CD library. YAYAYAYAY!! So last week I tried almost everyday to win. Nothing. Then on Wednesday after driving home from doing a REALTOR showing....BAM...Caller 29! Yay I won! But I also realized I get entered into the drawing for concert tickets to the show here on April 10th, and then fly away tickets to Seattle for the April 2nd show. What? Fly Away? Awesome. We werent going to be able to take a vacation for our anniversary this year like we wanted because we are saving every last dime to buy a house, which by the way is totally happening we are starting to look in two weeks as just about have all of our money saved. So if we won this trip it would so totally be awesome, plus my birthday is 3 days after our anniversary. So the drawing was on Friday to pick the winner. I was told I should get a call by 3:30pm if I won. 3:30 came and passed, then another minute, and another. 3:45 sent a text to David said no call, so I assumed no win. Sis and mom called, nothing, told them the same. As I was leave the store and getting Davey settled we pulled out from our parking spot. Ring...Ring...Hello? Yes this is her...what? I won? (screaming)....get this picture? How awesome is that. Life works in crazy ways. So now we will pay extra to switch our tickets to be able to go a few days early so we can go have fun. I have not been to Seattle since, well since we moved from Washington almost 9 years ago. I love it in Seattle, so I am totally excited.

For those of you who dont know we have the broadway play of The Lion King here in town. It came hhmmm...I think a little over a year ago. My mother and I have been wanting to go, really bad. Tickets, well that is what has pretty much stopped us. They arent too expensive, but still not cheap either. So with my luck up these days they, the radio again :), was giving away tickets all this weekend, so I was listening. I never tried to call in as you cant win more than once in a two week period. Then on my way home last night from the store at 7ish...I decided to try. If I won I would just put it under my moms name so we could go. Call...busy...call...busy...call, you get it. Nothing just busy. Then I decided to make one last attempt. Dial...c'mon make a freaking connection stupid cell phone...Ring...Ring...What? Am I dreaming? Hi you are caller 29...WooHoo!! Yay...I won again. What the heck are the odds. I have never one like this on the radio. 99% of the time I dont even get through, and if I do its for like a movie pass or something. Nothing as great as this. So David is obviously going to seattle with me, we will see the concert there. The April 10th concert, I am taking Julia for our birthday, and now I get to take my mom to something as well. Yay me!

I totally need to go and play Mega Bucks or drive to stateline and pick up a lotto ticket. :)

Well that has been just the weekend. I am looking forward to the next two months as we are going to start looking to buy our first home, yay, Davey and the boys are starting swimming lessons, Easter, my anniversary, and my birthday are coming up, a mini vacation now is coming up, concerts, and my family is coming in May. Both from my side and Davids. Yay. Busy next few months but well deserved.

I hope all is well with you guys out there. Leave a comment on my blog so I know you are reading. FYI...you do not have to sign up to do so.

I love you all.

Mario's 3rd Birthday Video

Whew! Finally got these loaded.

Here are two videos from Mario's birthday.

This first one is him opening presents.

This one is of Isaac and Davey (well kind of) doing the Elmo hand dance. I should have recorded it the first time round. This is like the 6th...you kind of get that since no one was dancing anymore. Mario just wanted to watch it over and over, but not dance.

Mario's 3rd Birthday

This past Saturday was Mario's 3rd Birthday. We all went over to Julia's house to celebrate. He is soooo into Elmo these days. So needless to say buying a present for him was way easy, for once. Usually this is not the case. He got plenty of new Elmo things, including his new ELMO hands (he wanted these since before Christmas), and plenty of new toys. He is so excited to be the same age as Davey again. It's crazy those two wanted nothing to do with each for the first 2 years of their lives. And now they are the best of friends.

Here is Mario's cake. Julia did a great job on it. Mario wasnt the only one excited. All the kids loved it. The best part was we already owned the pan. Davey had an Elmo birthday for his 1st birthday. Its always great to save money. :)

Mario is such a cutie pa-tootie. I made this shirt for him the night before when he spent the night at my house. Since I sell Iron Ons online I always make the kids shirts since I have the stock on hand. He couldnt wait to wear it.

Julia got this for him. OMG!!! Isnt he just so freaking adorable. He is running over to Uncle David. He wouldnt go to me or Mammers, only David. He totally loves his Uncle.

PRESENT TIME!!

Thanks everyone for the presents. Mario loved all them!

Cake. He told his mom to put his candles in these spots. Goofball.
Love everyone! Talk to you soon.

Playdoh Fun

David came home for lunch the other day and usually Davey yells "daddy" when he walks through the door and tries to play with him. However on this day that was not the case. He was distracted because he was playing with PLAYDOH and wasn't about to budge for his dad. I totally love playdoh and so do the kids. So David decided to record him having fun while I made Daddy's lunch. Enjoy.

(Sorry for the shakiness of the camera, I am still trying to teach David not to do that.)

Fishie Time

So last week my great friend Lisa invited us to go to the Shark Reef. She is just great. I mean a true friend. You cant find many of those here in Vegas, but about 5 years back I did. We met when I wanted to play volleyball and she picked my name off a list of people wanting to play but didn't have a team. She is just great, along with her hubby Iz, and little one Austin. Davey just loves them too.

Any who...the Shark Reef. Love this place. Don't go often since not much changes but who doesn't love to see Sea Creatures. I know my family does. It was just us, Lisa and her little one Austin, and Julia and Mario. It was great, and Davey even got to touch the sting rays. However jellyfish scare him apparently. They have a big round tube type display of them with a ledge. So we stood all the kids up there. He loved it at first. But then two, very large ones swam right in front of him. That just freaked him out. Even though there was glass between him and them, that was just not enough. He didn't care for them much after that and wanted down.

Here we are at the starfish. Those are HUGE!!! Like his shirt? I totally made it. He didn't care much but his dad did. I guess that is all that counts since I did make it for his Daddy so they match.

Here Aunt and Mario.

Here's all three. Man it was hard to get a pick of all of them looking at the camera. If you haven't been here, this is in this ship part where 3/4 of the thing is glass and then the Sea Creatures. Its totally dark in here but cool as heck. So much to see. That's probably why the kids wouldn't pay attention.

Here's a pick of Davey looking at a fish that was almost as big as he was. See that nice big line, yeah that's a crack. Or at least where they sealed the glass together. Either way a little uneasy for me. You can touch it and feel a ridge, I just keep picturing the JAWS movie where the people were in the underwater tunnel exhibit and it starts to crack open. I am soooo NOT a fan of sharks or the ocean. I guess that's why I only go to aquariums and not see the real thing.

After our little outing at the Shark Reef it was time to pick up Digo Mo (Diego). So we decided to go to the park down the street. Most of you who came to my wedding I am sure saw this park. It is the cowboy park right outside the house we got married out. The kids love it. Plus its nice that it is down the street from Julia.

Diego wanted Alicia (Lisa) to push him higher and higher. We have been trying for about a year to get him to stop calling her Lisa. She says he is the only one that is allowed to do that. Well on this trip he finally told us why he calls her that. It is because he is Diego just like Diego from Go Diego Go and he has a sister called Alicia. So Lisa is his Alicia. Crazy kid. We all had a good laugh at that, and now it totally makes sense.

Aww...Here is Austin. He is just the sweetest little thing. He is always so open with me. He always holds my hand, not his mommy's. :) He even gives me a kiss goodbye sometimes.

My child loves to go high just like Diego, however wont do it in the big kid swing. I think because he is lazy. He can just sit in the baby swing and not have to hang on too much.

This was the third one I took of Mario. He was being a turd. He didn't want his pick taken so I pretty much would only get an empty swing. Then finally he just gave in and sat still for me to take one.

What a week from hell!

This last week was one I could forget.

Not only did my printer go down I almost cut my finger off. If you arent on facebook all the time then you might have not gotten the update. Lets start from the beginning. I had a decent amount of orders coming in last week. Yay me! Then on Wednesday night non of my new printer ink cartidges were working. And I mean not just one I tried 4, yes 4 new ones. I figured it was the crappy ink I bought from someone on ebay. No big deal I can get a full refund. Then after talking to the hubby, we decided that maybe it was also time to get a new printer, because even the last store bought ink I used went pretty quick. So Thursday we looked, couldnt decided as we wanted to do more reasearch.

So in the meantime on Friday I got replacement ink for my mothers which was only $36 versus the $60 something I would have had to pay for mine. I would rather put most of that cost to a new printer. Needless to say I had a bunch of REALTOR showings and just couldnt get to my printing until Friday night. Then as I started working, I opened up the new ink and UGH!!! it was already opened and used. STUPID Walgreens! So I had to make another trip out to exchange it. Got home and loaded up the printer and it wouldnt load right. Took us an hour and a half to get it working. Ridiculous! So it is now almost 11pm. I had more showings the next morning so only had time to print everything out and only get started on cutting them out. I then went to bed at midnight.

Woke up at 5am balling my head off. Had a nightmare that my child had just died from a head trauma from swimming. I told everyone it wasnt just a bump and he needed to go to the hospital. No one believed me and he died from it. UGH!! Cried for about an hour and just sat in his room and watched him sleep and made sure he was okay. Then laid in bed another hour as I couldnt get back to sleep. I swear since my child has been born I have had at least a dozen or more dreams like that. My life would be nothing without him and my husband.

So finally back asleep by 7 and then had to get up by 8. Dont you just hate when that happens. So up by 8 got ready and was done way early before my mom was showing up so I thought I would finish cutting the transfers and get them in the mail. But NOOOOO, GOD had other plans. As I was cutting the rotary cutter jumped the ruler and practically cut my finger off. Screamed for David, got our things together including the child who was awakened out of a deep sleep and jumped in the car. That stupid 15 minute drive was HELL!!! All I can say is having a child was a walk in the park compared to the pain I had. And the epidural wasnt my savior. I had actually been overdosed with the epidural so they took me off of it before I could start pushing. All I can say is the last 15 minutes of pushing were without the Epidural as it had fully wore off. Again that 15 minutes of pain was NOTHING compared to that 15 minute drive on Saturday. Anyways finally got there, went right in and they went to work. Needles and blood just dont bother me anymore, but pain. Man anyone who knows me knows I do not like pain. So of course I get nothing for it, just my luck. Although they numbed me up to give me 4 stitches I totally felt two of them, even screamed on the last one, which is right by my nail. UGH UGH UGH!!! So now I was told put neosporin on it and check back in in 2 days and then in 1 week the stitches will come out. No pain medicine then either. Just take Aspirin, Ibuprofen or Tylenol. In all honesty havent needed much of it. Again I dont like pain but even after I had my son I just didnt take much or actually didnt take anything at all.

So after all that I am terrified to cut again, I even bought the saftey cutter so it wont happen again but I just am not ready to get going on it. Even though I need to. Also I still just havent cleaned up the blood splattered room. Yes it is everywhere. That is what scared David the most. There was so much blood.

So that was my fun and exciting week with a super blast of an ending. How was everyone elses?

Swimming Time?

Davey is totally ready for swimming lessons. We have been wanting to put him in them since last year but every time it is time for sign up we don't really have the money for a week or two and then BAM! it is all filled up. He has been to the pool plenty and can doggy paddle really well. He likes to put his head under if he does it but not by anyone else. He just cant hold his breath under water yet. But as you can see from the video he is definitely ready. I am hoping come this spring or sooner we can get him in a class. So when his cousins come to town (Madison and Lauren) he can go swimming with them. :)

Davey's first MR2 meet

Last Sunday (01/10/10) Davey attended his first MR2 meet with his Daddy. David has wanted to take him for so long. However I refused because I just didn't think it was safe to let a child ride in a 2 seater sports car. Davey is now in a booster seat and no longer uses the baby seat belt, but now uses a real seat belt. So I gave it a little more thought this time when I was asked my monthly question. Yes monthly. David goes every 2nd Sunday of the month and has been asking to take Davey since, well since he was practically born. So as you can see from the pictures I did let him go. I was a nervous Nelly the whole time but they did make it home in one piece.

This is the line up of MR2's. From what I can see ours is the third one in from the left. David loves his car, more than me I think at times. :)

David said Davey got a little bored towards the end and sat in the car and played. Nothing new since this is what he does when they are at home and David is working on the car. I cannot even tell you how many times Davey has killed the battery by doing this. He always manages to leave a light on or a door open. HAHAHAHA...sucks for daddy.

So Mario's 3rd Birthday is coming up. I just had to share the invitation I made for him. I make all of the kid's invitations for parties. I sell them online but of course do it for free for family. I think it turned out great! Julia says he was so excited when he saw it. It's so funny too, when Davey saw it he started saying "for Mario?". He is so smart.

Hope all is well with all of you and your family. Leave me a comment sometime. :)
I love you all!

Scooter Time

It was so nice out today. I am talking 60 degrees nice. Dont hate, I know most of you are jealous since you have snow. Well because it was so nice I thought Davey could get out of the house for a little bit and ride his new scooter. He got this for his birthday from his/our good friends John, Brandie and Xavier. (thanks again guys). Because it has been so cold outside he pretty much has just been riding it around the house. So today was the test....and he of course passed. He rides it so well.

We went to the park while out riding the scooter around and Daddy kept wanting to ride it. As davey puts it "you're to big DADDY!". So he decided to move it far away from Daddy so he couldnt touch it.

Davey then decided to try to ride on the rocks. What a silly kid. He went no where. But that didnt stop him so he decided to hop with it to get it to go.

Here are some pics of Davey at the park. He is such a ham.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend :)

"I Like You"

Can I just say that I love my child sooooooooooo much. His new thing these days is to always tell us "I like you" which means I love you. We have always been very expressive with him when it comes to saying I love you. I am the type of person that can't just know you love me, I need to hear it and often. Everytime I talk on the phone, see you in person, go to bed, wake up, I mean I need to hear it a lot. So with Davey there was no change. And since he talks so much these days he just picked up on it and started saying it. Enjoy.

P.S. to listen to my videos you will need to mute the music player on the right. You can either pause it or click on the speaker icon.

Happy New Year's

Well it is the beginning of a new year and so far so good. Of course we are only into day 4 but hey it seems to be good. I hope everyone had a good and safe Holiday season. My mother and I went to play Bingo on New Year's Eve, like we have for the last 3 years in a row. This year we were joined by some good friends, Kayla and her husband Kevin. We have been going for 3 years like I said but have yet to win. :( However it is a blast to go and is a safe way to spend the evening. Too bad my hubby cannot come, he stays home with the child. Thanks babe! Here are some pics of us that night.

Davey is so silly these days. He talks more than ever and even clearer than ever. He is a huge, and I mean huge, fan of tatoos. On him that is. I don't know what it is but he loves them. I can honestly say we have started a little collection of them for him. This one was one I just found in a scrapbook drawer of mine and knew he would love to have it. Especially since it is Donald. (He is a huge Disney fan) I put this on him on Wednesday. He still has it today. Goob!

I also wanted to note that I changed the blog up a little bit. To the right you will see pictures, more, YAY!! I will add to it all the time. This is a huge time saver since a post takes forever to load only a couple of pics. I also now have MUSIC!! Stole the idea from my cousin Angie, thanks :)

On another note, I need more followers! I want to know that I am doing this for a reason. Thanks Shan for being my first. Love you.

More to come later. Love you all.
